Marguerita “Rita” M. Cheng is the Chief Executive Officer at Blue Ocean Global Wealth. Rita is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) professional, an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, a Retirement Income Certified Professional®, and a Chartered Advisor of Philanthropy®.  She is also a member of the CNBC Financial Advisor Council and serves on the Board of Directors for the CFP Board.  

As a regular columnist for Kiplinger & US News & World Report and a past spokesperson for the AARP Financial Freedom Campaign, she is a frequently-featured writer and speaker whose expertise focuses on her core belief that everyone deserves access to competent and ethical financial advice.  As a leading voice in the financial sector for more than 20 years, Rita is committed to both her clients and the industry as a whole.  

As the heart behind Blue Ocean Global Wealth, Rita is driven by her passion to partner with and empower people through some of life’s most difficult challenges—divorce, death, career changes, caring for aging relatives—so they can feel confident and in control of their finances. She considers it a great privilege to be able to walk alongside people and create a lasting impact.  Rita is also an avid runner, and she volunteers her time as a SoleMate, or charity runner, for Girls on the Run, which raises scholarship money for girls.
